Getting It Right From The Start
We offer this course for anyone who is starting or about to start a new relationship.
About
Entering a new relationship is a wonderful and exciting time. It is also a time, however, where we often subconsciously or even actively suppress key aspects of ourselves and tolerate more than we ordinarily would. We do this to put forward what we might think of as "the best version of ourselves", avoiding whatever we perceive might damage the potential of this new connection. We all do this. But doing it damages the potential especially for the longer term: the boundaries we allowed to be crossed and the aspects of ourselves we suppressed will reveal themselves in a more aggressive way when we settle into the more comfortable routines of the relationship. Better, then, would be to use the exhilaration you are both feeling in this time as an opportunity to develop a more healthy and open communication style, where from the start you both can feel more seen, heard and understood. With this greater understanding of each other, you can create a deeper connection and intimacy as well as the resilience you will need later as the relationship naturally goes through cycles of expansion and contraction. This course can be done either together with your new partner or alone. The benefits will be felt either way for when you change your style of communication with your partner you naturally encourage them to change theirs. _________________________ WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: - Somatic talking and how this is different from normal conversations - Create safe spaces for honest and heartfelt communication - How Men and Women process feelings differently - Understanding your and your partner's relationship archetypes (the patterns and triggers that make you reactive) and how this understanding can help you better communicate - Dealing with that first disconnection: that first disagreement or misunderstanding - Resolving clashes in our values
